This week I have enjoyed reading the Oprah Magazine Celebrating 25 unforgettable years of the Oprah Winfrey Show.
I loved watching Oprah! Oprah was funny, smart, and a wonderful leader that everyone loved to talk too.
This 90 minutes of reading was enjoyed in front of the fire place and wrapped in a blanket. Yes, here in Kansas we have seen the beginning of Wintery weather. 50's at night and 30's when you wake up.
Oprahs magazine shared highlights, wonderful photos, and interviews with people behind the scenes, interviews and highlights with people like Dr. Phil, Celine Dion, Karen Campbell, and her amazing adventures in Australia.
I really enjoyed her special magazine this week. Thanks for a great read!

Another Beautiful Fall Week:)
Debbie Macomber has done it again with a great ending to her Cedar Cove series book 1105 Yakima Street. I won't give away the ending but.....wow it was awesome:) If you love the series then it will leave you begging for another book! Oh wait! Her new one is already out and I can't wait to get it open! 1225 Christmas Tree Lane out September 27 so go get one today! Oh by the way did you get the address? 1225......Dec. 25? Coincidence? No!
Loved this last 2 hours of the book this week. I sure thank this class of Content Area Literacy for making me read for enjoyment:)
Til next week, Gena

Reading is only part of the pleasure this week:)
This has been a beautiful fall week! I have read at least the 90 minutes and then some I am sure! I have enjoyed reading at the park, under a big oak with my cat LuLu! She loves the outdoors and living in an apartment without a kitty door (aka doggy door) has put a damper on her social activities!
This weeks reading reveals that the pregnant wife of Bruce Peyton has been found by Bruce himself and he is going to see her. Will this meeting be welcomed? I don't think so! She didn't want to be found and was hoping to not have confrontations with her stepdaughter whom thinks this baby is mistake and that she does not want her stepmother Rachel back at home any more than she wants back in that enviroment!
Back in the kitchen of Charlotte we find that she caused the fire due to her forgetting to turn the oven off. Charlotte is becoming more forgetful daily and this is worrying her family terribly. Her daughter is beginning to think that she has the beginnings of Alzheimers.
What a great week for reading under a tree!

1105 Yakima Street
Debbie Macomber has done it again! All of our favorite friends are back in Cedar Cove. Rachal's pregnant and single and has no place to go without the babies father finding her.
Ben and Charlottes restaurant had a small fire and now they have no place to go either. What a mess in Cedar Cove. How did the fire start? Did she forget to turn something off? Was it an electrical short. Fireman Mack said noone is allowed back into the restaurant until the investigation is complete! What will Charlotte do in her spare time, all she enjoys is her cooking!
Love the Cedar Cove Books. I am also the new owner of Better Homes Food Gift Cookbook and Cooklight. Both of these magazines have some great fall recipes for the restaurant! Bon apetite!

Cook Books:)
I am an avid reader of cookbooks! I love them, love testing new recipes at my restaurant! I have approximately 25 cookbooks and 30-50 cooking magazines that I love to read. My newest cooking magazine I have subscribed to is Rachael Ray's! I spend more than 90 minutes a week reading and using the internet for recipes. My son, mother and sister help run the restaurant and we have a blast sharing new recipes together.
My favorite author is Debbie Macomber and her new book that I just bought is 1105 Yakima Street. I am behind on her books as I just realized she has another one out as of Sept. 27! I must now run to Dillons or Wal-mart to get her new Christmas book Official storyteller of Christmas!
Blog later, Gena:)
